Overview
Sunbird AI seeks a highly motivated and proactive Communications & Engagement Officer to support our growing organization. This role requires a strong team player with excellent digital communications, writing, partnership building and management, and interpersonal skills. Beyond communication and media relations, the successful candidate will contribute to office administration, internal staff communications, and support the Communications and Engagement team. This role will play a key part in engaging with external partners, managing those relationships, and communicating the impact of Sunbird AI’s products.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Computing, Journalism, Digital Marketing, or a related field with experience in technology for development.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar communication/engagement role.
- Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in content creation and management using tools like Canva and content management platforms.
Responsible For
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies and plans, including content creation and management across all platforms (website, newsletters, press releases, social media), aligned with Sunbird AI’s strategic goals, engagement and branding.
- Cultivate and manage external partner relationships, acting as the primary communication liaison to expand the reach of Sunbird AI’s products and engage target audiences.
- Translate technical information about Sunbird AI’s products into accessible, impactful narratives for diverse stakeholders, including reports and presentations.
- Support internal communications and contribute to policy-related content, ensuring staff alignment with organizational objectives and assisting in event planning and coordination.
- Monitor and evaluate communication strategies, including analyzing product usage data and reporting on impact, to recommend improvements and drive continuous growth.
- Planning and coordinating events including meetings, workshops, conferences, and official visits, maintaining strong media relations, responding to inquiries and coordinating interviews.
